Today we are rejoined by Fr. Chad Ripperger, PhD, to talk about the abuse crisis in the Church in light of the revelations concerning former Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, the mass cover-ups carried out by bishops in Pennsylvania as revealed by the PA Grand Jury report, and the allegations against the Pope made by Archbishop Viganó. Instead of rehashing what has made the rounds on news, blogs and op-ed pieces, Fr. Ripperger discusses past Church legislation governing seminarians and clergy, and how the Vatican directed seminaries to deal with the problem of corrupt seminarians before Vatican II. He addresses the problem of homosexuality and the wider problem of a failure to keep chastity among seminarians, priests and bishops. Lastly, Father deals with the argument that everything is to blame on “clericalism” and shows that this is a veiled attack on the Catholic priesthood, and what the theology of the priesthood actually is. Not to be missed.

The PA and John Jay reports have indicated most abuses were homosexual in nature, i.e., pederasty male on male.
Also, surveys have indicated a very high percentage of priests have homosexual inclinations.
Therefore, do parents have a right to ask their bishops if their priest might have such inclinations?

What a blessed relief to sit in on this conversation —”interview” — between two sons of the Church who know what She is all about! We —my wife Elizabeth —and I pray daily the Chaplet of St.Michael,
with Fr.Ripperger —and ALL exorcists — as one of the intended recipients of whatever graces God and His Holy Angels may wish to support and protect him. Meantime, I relish every moment given to hearing Father’s sermons, conferences, and Youtube videos.

to come by, and you build up REAL certitude in a believer’s “Sensus Fidelium”!
It has been a blessed relief, even sheer delight, to sit in on this conversation
—”interview” —between two sons of the Church who do know what She is all
about.
As retirees and happy Grandparents, my wife Elizabeth and I see it as our
avocation to develop the habit of daily prayer. Rosary? Of course. And we also
pray daily the Chaplet of St.Michael (concluding with the Morning Offering and Ste.Thérèse’s “Prayer for Priests”). We’ve quickly included Fr.Ripperger ( .. and
all exorcists) as intended recipients of whatever graces with which God and His
Holy Angels which to support and protect him. ( .. that’s 27 “Hail Mary”s, Father,
and 9 “Our Fathers”)
Meantime, I continue to relish Father’s sermons, conferences, and Youtube
videos.

As for “in between moments” of striving for Holiness, we sinners fortunately
also have Servant of God G.K.Chesterton to fall back on: ““When we rebuke a man for being a sinner, we imply that he has the powers of (becoming) a Saint.” (1929).
